Tori James, a seasoned professional golfer with a remarkable 18-year journey in the world of golf, stands out not only for her skill on the course but also for the unique path that led her to the sport. Introduced to golf by her grandmother, Tori's entry into the game was almost serendipitous, following a pivotal moment in elementary school. Faced with a choice between competitive soccer and golf after an injury that nearly tore her ACL, Tori embraced golf wholeheartedly.

Reflecting on her early experiences, Tori shares, "I like to say that it was God's intended plan for me all along." This sentiment arose as she discovered her natural talent during her very first golf lesson. The instructor was astonished, believing Tori had been playing for years due to the proficiency of her swing and overall game.

Her journey continued as Tori excelled on her co-ed middle school team, dominating events with an impressive scoring average of 3 under par. Progressing through local junior tours in Northern California, Tori's skills garnered attention. She then ascended to play as the number 1 golfer for all four years at her high school before earning a spot on the Division 1 golf team at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

During her time in Las Vegas, Tori identified a void in the golfing community, an absence she felt alongside her close friend Maria, who played for Long Beach State. One sunny day in Los Angeles, while enjoying snow cones, the vision for BlkGolfBabes materialized. This initiative aimed to fill the gap they perceived in the representation and recognition of black women in golf, forging a community that celebrates diversity and excellence within the sport.

As Tori James strives to make her mark in professional golf, her journey remains a testament to the transformative power of passion, perseverance, and a sense of purpose. Through BlkGolfBabes, she contributes to reshaping the narrative of golf, ensuring that it becomes a space where everyone's story and talent are celebrated.
